Introduction

The traditional art of hand letter cutting is highly skilled and uses only a hammer and chisel to create the wonderful workmanship that is so fast being lost in this day and age of automated methods.

We are a small traditional Stonemasonry firm covering Staffordshire and the West Midlands and are dedicated to bringing the customer high quality workmanship at competitive prices.

We offer traditional hand-cut lettering which means that individual customer requirements can be accommodated - whatever the design or style.   It takes years to learn this traditional skill, however, once mastered, it is a true craft that can bring individuality and style to any commission.

In March 2001 we were accepted as members of the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM).  NAMM is the official Trade Association for the Memorial Industry and seeks to maintain and promote excellence among stonemasons.  All members must abide by NAMMs Code of Working Practice which aims to protect the stonemasons themselves, their customers and also the general public in terms of safety in cemeteries and churchyards.

By choosing a stonemason that is a member of NAMM customers can expect not only high standards in terms of skill and experience, but also ensure that they have the backing of a professional Trade Organisation if required.   You can visit the NAMM website by clicking HERE.

Customers are welcome to visit our workshops to see letter-cutting by hand taking place.  Please see the contact info page with regard to opening times and location details.

Due to the demands of today's market, we also offer a sand-blast letter cutting service.  This alternative way of lettering enables customers to obtain good quality letters at a much lower cost.  Sand-blast lettering is ideal for new stones, however, where letters have to be matched to existing ones, for example, an additional inscription to be added to a memorial, this can only be done by a professional hand letter-cutter who has the flexibility and ability to match any style of lettering.
